NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASE SYMPOSIUM AT THE NAIROBI HOSPITAL

The Nairobi hospital held a Non Communicable Diseases Symposium at the Hospital’s Amphitheater on 14th July with a Specialist presenting on Diabetes and an overview of NCD (Non Communicable Disease) challenge in Kenya.
The Symposium had three sessions covering Hypertension, Diabetes, Obesity, Thyroid, Cancer, and Arthritis, Kidney transplant, chronic lung disease and Conversion disorders, which are among the major diseases affecting Kenya today.
The other important sessions focused on Health financing for Non communicable Diseases in Kenya and Government Policies on Non Communicable Disease in the country. These sessions gave an insight on the level to which these diseases have affected people and to which value of importance is it being handled.
Other sessions focused on the challenges and solutions of problems faced in Psychiatry, Dermatology and Neurology.
